@dusborneDavid Usborne is a freelance commentator, feature writer and news reporter based in New York. He was a founding member of The Independent, reporting from Brussels when it launched in 1986. In 1992 he moved to the United States where he wrote about political, current and cultural affairs. He was US Editor for The Independent from 2009 to 2016 and has covered six presidential elections.
